Baldwin Pole and Piling Company, Inc. today is a treated pole manufacturer serving utility customers in the South East, Mid-West and over seas. The company operates two pole manufacturing facilities on the Gulf Coast .
Baldwin Pole and Piling Company, Inc. was founded in 1945 as a privately owned pole manufacturer. The company’s main office and original production facility is located on eighty (80) acres with in the city limits of Bay Minette, Alabama. In 2007 Baldwin Pole purchased a production facility in Wiggins Mississippi which doubled the companies production capabilities. Since Baldwin Pole was founded it has grown from ten employees in Alabama to over eighty employees in four states. The companies production facilities in Bay Minette, Alabama and Wiggins Mississippi each are capable of producing 200,000 treated poles each year. In addition to the production facilities, Baldwin Pole operates a transportation company dedicated to delivering poles to customers and a sales yards located in Des Moines, Iowa, and Pittsburg, Kansas.
Baldwin Pole pressure treats southern yellow pine poles harvested within a 200 mile radius of its facilities. The raw material remains plentiful within the harvesting area around the production facilities. Treating solutions used in the process are REA approved Pentachlorophenol and CCA chemical.
